Just like humans, animals have a subtle energy system running through their bodies. This system includes a series of energy centres known as chakras. When these chakras are balanced and flowing freely, animals feel more emotionally and physically grounded. But when blockages or imbalances occur, it can affect their behaviour, wellbeing, and even their bond with you.
As a Reiki Seichim practitioner and animal communicator, I use a combination of intuitive energy healing and pendulum work to help identify and support animals with chakra imbalances. Let me walk you through the chakra system in animals, including some extra chakras they have that humans don’t, and how energy healing can gently restore balance.
The Main Animal Chakras & What Imbalance Can Look Like:
Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Base of the spine
Governs: Safety, grounding, survival needs
Signs of imbalance: Nervousness, fearfulness, hypervigilance, digestive issues
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) – Lower belly
Governs: Emotions, creativity, relationships
Signs of imbalance: Clinginess, emotional outbursts, difficulty bonding, frustration
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Just below the ribs
Governs: Confidence, personal power, digestion
Signs of imbalance: Submissiveness, excessive dominance, lack of motivation, digestive discomfort
Heart Chakra (Anahata) – Centre of the chest
Governs: Love, compassion, trust
Signs of imbalance: Aggression, withdrawal, jealousy, inability to connect
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Throat area
Governs: Communication, self-expression
Signs of imbalance: Excessive barking/meowing, difficulty expressing needs, silence in animals that are usually vocal
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Forehead area
Governs: Intuition, perception, awareness
Signs of imbalance: Confusion, disorientation, inability to settle, hypersensitivity to environment
Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) – Top of the head
Governs: Connection to source, purpose
Signs of imbalance: Depression, disconnection, lethargy, listlessness
Unique Animal Chakras
In addition to the main 7 chakras, animals have several additional energy centres:
Brachial Chakra (between the shoulders): The main animal-human connection chakra. A blockage can show up as fear of touch, mistrust, or trauma from past owners.
Ear Chakras (behind each ear): Help animals receive intuitive information. A block might cause confusion or resistance to training.
Whisker or Sensing Chakra (muzzle area): Relates to the animal’s intuitive awareness. A block here can make animals skittish or overly reactive.
Tail Chakra (tip or base of tail): Linked to grounding and physical balance. Blockages may lead to fearfulness or instability.
Paw Chakras (pads of feet or hooves): Essential for grounding. Blocked paw chakras may lead to agitation or reluctance to move.
How I Detect Blockages Using a Pendulum

When working with an animal, I use a pendulum to assess each chakra individually. The pendulum responds to the energy in the animal's field, showing whether the chakra is open, blocked, or overactive. This process is non-invasive and can be done in person or remotely using a photo and intention to connect. The pendulum remains still if a chakra is blocked and spins in circles when it is open, but this is personal to me and other energetic healers may work differently.
Once imbalances are detected, I use Reiki Seichim and the power of the pendulum healing to support the animal’s energy system. Reiki Seichim is a gentle but powerful healing practice that combines traditional Reiki with elemental energies. It helps release tension, emotional trauma, and energetic blockages that may be contributing to your pet’s distress or behavioural issues.
Benefits of Chakra Healing for Animals
Improved emotional regulation and behaviour
Reduction in anxiety, fear or aggression
Enhanced connection and communication with their human
Better physical health and vitality
Greater peace, calm and comfort
Every session is tailored to your pet’s needs. Healing may take time and is not a quick fix, but animals are incredibly receptive and often show subtle shifts even after one session.
If you’re curious about how chakra balancing could support your animal, I’d love to connect. Whether your pet is struggling or you simply want to deepen your bond, intuitive healing may offer the insight and relief you’ve been looking for.
